Tranemo is part of the Sjuhärad area and West Sweden, where textiles and trade mirrors the culture in our community.

Entrepreneurship and belief in the future, mixed with a compassionate consideration for others and for nature makes Tranemo a close knit county with a special Tranemo spirit. Unemployment is low and there are plenty of job opportunities. Our oldest business was founded in 1740.The Tranemo spirit is also mirrored in our fantastic cultural life. Residents here are exceptionally healthy. A large part of the business sector is industrial, but there are also many small and enterprising entrepreneurs, and a flourishing agriculture industry.

The business community and the local authority are preparing for the future, and part of our skills provision is to offer apprentice and internships to students at Tranemo College. We are working to encourage our youngsters to stay here or come back after they have finished their studies. Our young people are successful in the Swedish Junior Business Achievement Organisation, and as Summer Vacation Entrepreneurs.

In Tranemo you’re close to most things, without queues and congestion. There’s beautiful countryside here, green businesses with Tranemo spirit, an exciting history and a flourishing cultural life, a restful stillness and of course – the Swedish word for them is trana – cranes.
